Little Cross
My life
before the RCIA program was pretty interesting. I was not brought up
by my parents to go to church or even to believe in God. My fifth
grade teacher introduced me to GOD and His church. I went to a
Christian Church for about five years. During that time I was
baptized. I loved going and had a great time, but I didn’t quite
understand why I was going. I kind of went because I was friends with
my teacher. I didn’t want her to think that I was a flake or anything.
Then she moved out of state and that is when I stopped going to church.
I felt lost and more lost as the days went on. I never knew that I
needed someone to be by my side. I tried to find it through everything
else but through GOD.
As the
days went on, I just got depressed. Until one day I saw a pretty
little cross on my boss’s tie. He had told me it was a Rosary.
Wow, that little topic was the start of a new journey for me. I asked
him questions and he answered them. One day he told me about the RCIA
program. At first I was like okay. Then I thought about it.
He had given me a book to explain the Catholic religion. I was so
fascinated by the book I read it twice. I kept asking him about the
classes, he told me they would start in August. Well, August came and
I went to the class. I am excited about the whole journey that I have
gotten myself into. I am glad that it is never going to end.
